Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Company Overview:
The Independence Visitor Center Corporation (IVCC) is seeking a motivated and talented Marketing and Communications Coordinator to work closely under the Director of Partnerships and Marketing and the Director of Digital Strategy and Communications to support all IVCC marketing objectives

Job Summary:
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for producing communications and marketing materials to represent and promote the Independence Visitor Center Corporation (IVCC) and its entities, which include the Independence Visitor Center, its satellite locations, Philly PHLASH® Downtown Loop, and The Liberty View Meetings and Event Space.

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator assists in the curation, creation, and publication of both print and digital content, including but not limited to: brochures, signage, ad placements, internal communications, social media, website, and in-building digital displays.

Responsibilities and Duties:
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator position supports overall department goals by:

  • Providing administrative and planning support as needed
  • Creating print and digital messaging to strengthen the IVCC brand and partnerships
  • Acting as an internal liaison to communicate marketing initiatives and identify marketing needs of other departments, i.e. PHLASH, Visitor Services, TLV
  • Manage daily posting for IVCC social media accounts, including @PHLvisitorcntr Twitter, @TheLibertyView Instagram and Facebook
  • Create wrap-up advertising and media reports after large-scale events and installations
  • Compile press clips for quarterly IVCC Board of Directors meetings and as needed
  • Upload data and pull sales reports from Shopify for e-commerce partners
  • Program content for in-building digital installations, Welcome Wall & Graphic Displays
  • Distribute weekly Employee Update, and oversee its format transition to SharePoint
  • Create digital graphics for website ads, e-communications, and social media
  • Submit content and communicate drafts until final approval for the following publications: Historic Philadelphia Gazette, Independence National Historical Park quarterly newspaper, Official Visitors Guide, Professional Planners Guide, PHLASH Guide
  • Oversee content collection, design, layout, and distribution of Philly After 5 brochures
  • Oversee IVCC surveying and research efforts
  • Manage agreements and communications for IVCC partnerships

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 2 - 3 years of professional (or equivalent internship) experience in related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong verbal and writing skills, with the ability to develop creative content
  • Proficiencies in the following software: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office 365 
  • Strong graphic design skills (experience using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required)
  • Experience with social media scheduling and reporting tools, i.e. Sprout Social
  • Knowledgeable of the Greater Philadelphia region and tourism industry
